NAFEMS Collaborates with Eucentre
On June 13th 2012, Giuseppe Miccoli (member of the NAFEMS Council & Italian Steering Committee) and Tim Morris (NAFEMS CEO) met with the Eucentre Foundation at its Pavia headquarters in Italy agreeing to collaborate together for the benefit of the engineering simulation community.
Through this collaboration agreement, Eucentre and NAFEMS aim to create synergies in order to offer innovative information and dissemination services, as well as professional training.
Eucentre is also involved in the NAFEMS-Italian Steering Committee, formed by several Italian experts who are working in the field of advanced numerical analysis related to civil and earthquake engineering.
The Eucentre Foundation, European Centre for Training and Research in Earthquake Engineering, based in Pavia (Italy), is a non-profit organisation, that promotes, supports and sustains traning and research in the field of seismic risk mitigation.
The EUCENTRE was founded in 2003 by the following institutions:
- Italian National Department of Civil Protection
- University of Pavia (Italy)
- Italian Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology (INGV)
- Institute of Advanced Study of Pavia (Italy) (IUSS)
