The Skills Show
About The Skills Show
The Skills Show inspires and transforms young people’s lives through interactive events across the UK, changing the way we think about skills, training and apprenticeships.
Established in 2011 as a legacy of the international skills competition WorldSkills London, The Skills Show is a not-for-profit organisation funded by The Skills Funding Agency and the European Social Fund. We also receive significant cash investment and equipment donations from sponsors. This includes our premier sponsors City & Guilds and the Edge Foundation, as well as over 100 commercial businesses and the further education sector sponsor.
Since 2012 The Skills Show has grown by over 16% to 60,000m² and expects to welcome more than 75,000 visitors through the doors in 2013.
The Skills Show’s national and local activities
The Skills Show stages the UK’s largest skills and careers event at the NEC in Birmingham and this year’s event takes place on 14 -16 November 2013. In staging this national event we work with a wide range of partners with an interest in skills, training and apprenticeships including the National Careers Service, the National Apprenticeship Service, the Association of Colleges, the Association of Employment and Learning Providers; commercial organisations such as Tarmac, CIOB, BAE Systems, Jaguar Land Rover, and Siemens; and skills sector councils.
We also work with a wide variety of local organisations to support regional and local events across the UK that help raise awareness of skills, training and apprenticeships.
