ESI Group has released the 2006 version of CFD-CADalyzer – a
coupled design and analysis tool. CFD-CADalyzer is the perfect tool
for both CAD engineers and CFD analysts to perform design-level
analysis with a simple and intuitive interface. CFD-CADalyzer, a
complete package in itself with a built-in pre- and post-processor,
enables the simulation of flow and heat transfers, and allows the
comparison of results over a range of varying geometries and
operational conditions.
The integrated design environment provided by CADalyzer for the
leading CAD packages (including SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER,
Unigraphics, Inventor, Solid Edge and Mechanical Desktop) leads to
a faster time to market and improved product quality. CFD-CADalyzer
2006 improves ease of use by eliminating the pitfalls associated
with translation between different geometry representations.
CFD-CADalyzer V2006 is also more user-friendly, reducing design
time and allowing the user to choose the same mouse behaviour and
colour schemes as their favourite CAD packages.
“CADalyzer 2006 is an excellent analytical tool in our
product development process. I am impressed with its seamless
integration with native CAD packages like Solidworks, Inventor and
Unigraphics. CADalyzer has a major impact on our pre-processing
time as it gives a first order estimate in a matter of minutes.
CADalyzer takes only about one-fourth of the time as [compared to]
the other pre-processors we have in our facility. CADalyzer quickly
eliminates surprises and takes care of all the practical issues in
geometry and meshing. CADalyzer is an automated, easy-to-use
analytical tool which is well organised,” says Dr Kedar
Sangam, Member of Technical Staff, at Applied Materials Inc.
In pre-processing, specifically mesh building, mesh quality is very
important in setting up a complex geometry problem. Using
CFD-CADalyzer 2006 means that significantly better mesh quality is
obtained through the suppression of tiny features coupled with
intelligent boundary layer meshing.
In CFD-CADalyzer V2006, mathematical functions can be used as an
input for boundary condition values in addition to the structural
and deformation modelling capabilities of CDF-ACE+, which is
available with an additional licence. Now with CFD-CADalyzer 2006,
users can visualise their post-processing results quickly with the
one-button click animation feature. Among the new features included
in CFD-CADalyzer are a strip chart and carpet plot and a larger
memory capacity of 3GB.

About ESI Group
ESI Group is a pioneer and world-leading supplier of digital
simulation software for prototyping and manufacturing processes
that take into account the physics of materials. ESI Group has
developed an entire suite of coherent, industry-oriented
applications to simulate a product’s behaviour realistically
during testing, to fine-tune the manufacturing processes in
accordance with the desired product performance, and to evaluate
the environment’s impact on product usage.
ESI Group’s products, which have a proven track record in
manufacturing and have been combined in multi-trade value chains,
represent a unique collaborative, virtual engineering solution,
known as the Virtual Try-Out Space (VTOS), enabling virtual
prototypes to be improved in a continuous manner. By drastically
reducing costs and development lead times, VTOS solutions offer
major competitive advantages and make it possible to eliminate
gradually the need for physical prototypes. This integrated
protocol allows all the company’s solutions to work with each
other and with applications developed by independent software
vendors. By significantly reducing costs and development lead times
and enabling product/process synergies, VTOS solutions
progressively eliminate the need for physical prototypes during
product development, thus offering major competitive advantages.
ESI Group is listed on the Eurolist compartment C of Euronext
Paris, and generated sales of €60 million in 2004. The company
employs almost 500 high-level specialists worldwide, and covers
more than 30 countries.
