NAFEMS is a vendor neutral, not-for-profit membership association of more than 830 companies from all over the world. It was founded in 1983 with a specific objective „to promote the safe and reliable use of finite element and related technology."
In the years between the biannual NAFEMS World Congress the NAFEMS organizes regional congresses. The first NAFEMS NORDIC Regional Summit 2008 will be held at the Hotel 11 in Gothenburg on 17th & 18th November 2008. Entitled Best Practises and Trends in Engineering Simulation and Analysis, the Conference will give delegates an unrivalled independent insight into the current best practices and state-of-the-art in FEA, CFD, MBS and associated technologies, providing the most comprehensive overview and trends of the technology available.
The two-day conference aims to increase awareness and provide a discussion forum for topics that are important and relevant to engineering industrialists and academics. With this in mind, an outstanding agenda shall be announced which will enable all who attend to gain an invaluable insight into best practices and trends in the simulation world.
A three day FEA basic training course on "From Conventional Stress Calculations to Finite Element Analysis" and a comprehensive hardware and software exhibition are accompanying the Summit.
Analysts, engineers, team leaders or managers that has a responsibility for ensuring that a fit-for-purpose engineering solution is obtained from the use of modern simulation software are expected to attend.
The event is open to both members and non-members of NAFEMS, with members able to attend the event for free , as part of their membership benefits package.
Deadline for submitting abstracts will September 5th, 2008! The regional summit will include keynote speakers, exhibits, and breakout sessions exploring the following subjects: Best Practises and Trends - Current Industrial Applications and Future Industrial Needs (papers from all areas are equally welcome, i.e. Aerospace, Automotive, Biomedical, Civil Engineering, Shipbuilding/Offshore, Consumer Goods, Electronics, Energy, …), Business Benefits of CAE, Confidence in Engineering Analysis Results, Integration of Analysis into the Design Process, Simulation Data Management, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Multi-Body System Dynamics (MBS), Optimization, Robustness and Stochastics, High Performance Computing, ...
