FRIDAY JULY 24TH 2009 - GLASGOW, UK - NAFEMS, The International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community, has announced that its Simulation Data Management Working Group (SDMWG) is conducting a survey to evaluate and prioritize the future deliverables of the working group.
The mission of the NAFEMS Simulation Data Management Working Group (SDMWG) is to provide a vendor-neutral, end-user driven consortium that promotes the advancement of the technology and practices associated with the management of engineering simulation data and processes. This includes education, communication, promotion of standards, and development of requirements that will have general benefits to the simulation and analysis community with the identification of benchmarks and major strategic issues (grand challenges).
By participating, you receive your own personal copy of the overall survey results averages, which you will be able to compare with your own results. Your individual results will remain private to you, and it is up to you to establish any policy for sharing the information within your company. Results are prohibited from being shared across companies.
This survey contains 35 questions and will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. If you wish to take a break at any point, you may do so by closing your internet browser. To continue, re-open the survey using the same link and browser used to start the survey.
About the NAFEMS SDMWG:
Today, many manufacturers are facing tremendous challenges related to the storage and retrieval of simulation data. Product Data Management (PDM) systems are not capable of handling the terabytes of information which are generated as a result of performing these complex simulations. Simulation Data Management (SDM) provides a mechanism for the storage, management, and retrieval of this performance-related data. The SDMWG will address this breakthrough technology by helping the community better understand the benefits gained from implementing a Simulation Data Management system and how to save time, reduce development costs, and improve time-to-market.
