NAFEMS is delighted to announce the keynote speaker for its 4th biennial UK Conference, to be held in Grantham, Lincolnshire, on May 30-31st 2012.
Dr Pat Symonds is owner of Neutrino Dynamics, a consulting company that specialises in high technology and motorsport projects and acts as a consultant to the Marussia F1 team. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Technology by Oxford Brookes University in 2003 for his work in the education of motorsport engineers and is a chartered engineer as well as being an elected fellow of both the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Royal Aeronautical Society.
F1 is all about time/turnaround of new designs, and speaking from his experience with some of the largest motorsport teams in the world, Pat will give a unique insight into the application of simulation in this fast-moving arena.
The primary aim of this, the fourth NAFEMS UK Conference, is to help attendees realise the full potential of their engineering simulation and analysis. The 2012 NAFEMS UK Conference will explore the extent to which this potential has now been realised, and what more can be achieved.
The two day conference will focus on existing best practices as well as state-of-the-art FEA, CFD and associated technologies – ensuring delegates receive a fully comprehensive overview of the technology available to them. The conference intends to increase awareness and provide a discussion forum for topics that are important and relevant to engineering industrialists and academics, with an educational theme throughout.
Following on from the extremely successful 2010 conference, the 2012 event will certainly be the UK’s leading event on simulation technology aimed at the engineering analysis community – bringing together leading industrial practitioners, consultancies, academic researchers and software developers in a neutral forum.
As well as the main conference tracks, attendees will have access to several short training courses on various aspects of simulation and analysis. Additional special sessions will also focus on topics such as Composites, Education & Professional Development, Multibody Dynamics and more.
