Dr. Djamel Lakehal is the CEO of ASCOMP GmbH. He obtained his M.S.
in CFD from Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France in 1991, and his PhD
in December 1994. In the period 1995-1997, he collaborated with
Prof. W. Rodi at the University of Karlsruhe as a post-doctoral
researcher. As a Research Associate at the Institute of Fluid
Mechanics at the TU-Berlin (1997-1998), he collaborated with Prof.
F. Thiele. In 1998, he joined the Institute of Energy Technology of
the ETH Zurich as a Group Leader and Lecturer. He initiated the
creation of the Computational Multifluid Dynamics Group. In 2003,
Dr. Lakehal founded ASCOMP GmbH (www.ascomp.ch)
together with his former PhD students; an ETH Spin-off Company
specialized in industrial microscale fluid dynamics and heat
transfer.
Area of expertise include:
- Turbulence modelling (RANS) and simulation (LES and DNS)
- Multiphase flow
- Convective heat transfer
