Purpose
- To provide the international focal point for structural dynamics
testing best practice.
- To embrace both large industry and SMEs with a culture of testing
alongside analysis.
- To seek actively to integrate testing and simulation for
dynamicists.
- To promote the Dynamics and Testing Working Group as the central
body of knowledge for dynamic testing and analysis and simulation.
- To seek to raise funding through research bodies, government and
the European Union.
- To produce working documents to add to the publication profile of
NAFEMS.
One Year Objectives
- To establish the DTA as the central body of knowledge for dynamic
testing and analysis and simulation.
- To form a meaningful partnership and organisation with a broader
dynamics remit.
- To establish a presence with the Research Councils and Government
funding agencies that dynamics is at the core of structural design.
- To establish links beyond dynamics.
Five Year Objectives
- To provide the international focal point for UK and European
dynamics testing best practice.
- To embrace both large industry and SMEs with a culture of testing
rather than analysis in isolation.
- To establish dynamic testing as core discipline for engineering
design (testing an intrinsic part of design).
- To promote dynamic testing for post-production certification and
trouble-shooting.
- To facilitate the reliable and effective use of dynamic testing.
