Our mission is to:
"Provide knowledge, international collaboration and educational opportunities for the use and validation of engineering simulation"
NAFEMS, established in 1983, is the only independent, not-for-profit, international organization that is dedicated to engineering simulation technology. Its stakeholders include the simulation end users across all industry sectors who are engaged with all aspects of single domain, multi-physics, and multiscale simulations, including simulation technology providers, researchers, and academia that are engaged in this area for the development, manufacture, and lifecycle support and management of systems and subsystems.
The goals of NAFEMS are to:
- Be the recognized independent authority and trusted source for communicating engineering simulation knowledge, and for sharing best engineering modeling, analysis, and overall simulation practices in developing reliable products and innovative solutions.
- Facilitate unbiased world-wide communication and collaboration between industries, academia, and government organizations for the advancement of best practice in multidisciplinary engineering simulation expertise.
- Develop and deliver training and personal educational opportunities that are aligned with the rapidly-advancing engineering simulation technologies.
- Have a strong impact on product quality, development efficiency, and safety
NAFEMS considers that "Engineering Simulation" is:
The use of numerical and/or physical models of real or conceptual products, or engineering and scientific problems in performing computational (virtual) and/or experimental (physical) predictions of their response to different physical conditions.
