QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, & GLASGOW, UK, FEBRUARY 8TH 2019 – NAFEMS, the International Association for the Engineering Analysis, Modelling and Simulation Community, has announced an impressive line-up of keynote speakers for the 2019 NAFEMS World Congress (NWC19), being held in Quebec City this June.

Ten keynote speakers have been announced to date, covering a wide range of industries and technologies, reflecting the expanding role and reach of simulation. “NAFEMS World Congress 2019 keynotes will cover topics as diverse as systems engineering, digital twins, additive manufacturing, climate modelling and autonomous vehicles, amongst others,” said Tim Morris, CEO of NAFEMS. “This is a first-class line-up of thought-leaders, which will be sure to inspire and engage everyone who is a part of the Congress.”

The line-up so far consists of:
  • Rodrigo Britto Maria, Digital Engineering Systems and Technology Development, Embraer
  • Mark Meili, Director of Modeling and Simulation, Procter & Gamble
  • Francisco Chinesta, Professor of Computational Physics, ENSAM ParisTech
  • Lyle Levine, Mechanical Performance Group, National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST)Heinz Stoewer, Founder, Space Associates
  • Vicky Pope, Head of Science and Technology Futures, Met Office
  • Christian Brix Jacobsen, Senior Director, Grundfos
  • Olivier Colmard, Integrated CAE & PLM, Vice President, Renault Technocenter

The 2019 NAFEMS World Congress (NWC19) has seen an outstanding level of interest already, having over 450 abstracts submitted for presentation in Quebec. The Congress represents the most comprehensive and wide-ranging collection of analysis and simulation specific papers available from one independent, international event. As in previous years, the Congress is being held in conjunction with the International SPDM (Simulation Process & Data Management Conference), providing attendees with the opportunity to access both events with a single registration. A range of symposia will include dedicated sessions on Manufacturing Process Simulation & Additive Manufacturing, Systems Modelling & Simulation, and Integrated Virtual Material Modelling in the Manufacturing Industry. Over 20 short training courses will also be available to attendees, which will be delivered by the hugely experienced team of NAFEMS Tutors. An extensive exhibition will accompany the event, providing a focal point for attendees, presenters and sponsors alike.

Tim Morris, NAFEMS’ CEO, added, "The NAFEMS World Congress is regarded as one of the most important events on the calendar for the engineering analysis, modeling & simulation community, and has served as a forum for everyone in the community to advance the understanding, adoption, and informed use of simulation for over 35 years."

Registration and exhibition details are now available at nafems.org/congress, where a full agenda will also be available soon.
