Computing Insight UK

Computing Insight UK

Now in its 28th year the event formerly known as the Machine Evaluation Workshop combines an exhibition of the latest High Performance Computing (HPC) hardware and software with a programme of presentations from users who provide delegates with an overview of their use of HPC in real life situations. Attendees are able to hear success stories and problems encountered as projects make use of the latest HPC tools and equipment, as well as the solutions implemented to make the projects successful.

Through its exhibition Computing Insight UK (CIUK) allows attendees to communicate with a wide and varied selection of hardware and software vendors and resellers under one roof. Why schedule a number of visits or meetings on separate days – losing valuable work time – when you can meet all of your potential suppliers in the same place?

We take pride in the fact that CIUK is one of a very small number of HPC events in the UK that provides such a wide and varied programme of events within one conference. Now attracting around 400 attendees each year we are confident that CIUK is the UK’s premier annual HPC conference.

"CIUK is the only UK based HPC and Big Data conference addressing novice, established, public and private sector interests alike and the best networking event I have attended" Georgina Ellis, HPC Business Development Manager, OCF plc

CIUK Call for Presentations

We are currently accepting applications to present in the main programme at CIUK 2018. Each slot will be 30 minutes long and will provide the opportunity for you to share the challenges and successes of real-life projects.

  • Are you involved in a project that uses High Performance Computing to show how "Research Computing Delivers"?
  • Does your project collaborate with industry or commercial partners?
  • Are emerging technologies and new software part of your research work?
  • Do topics such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning impact on your studies?
  • Do you have a story to tell about how your individual career path bought you into computing and HPC?
  • Would you like to share your successes, challenges and thoughts with a diverse audience of over 400 people, like-minded researchers, technical staff and commercial decision-makers?
If the answer to any of these questions was "YES" then you are the person that we are looking for!

CIUK Poster Competition

We are currently accepting applications for our student poster competition. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, all forms of advances in high performance computing, storage, networking and big data analysis. Successful applicants will be invited to display their posters during the two days of the event with a dedicated poster session scheduled for the evening of Wednesday 12 December immediately following our keynote presentation. A panel of judges will select their winning poster during this session with an announcement made on the afternoon of Thursday 13 December. We will also waive registration fees to the event for all students selected to present posters during the event so you will be able to enjoy the CIUK exhibition and full programme of presentations and breakout sessions free of charge.
