Semiconductor Simulation and Modeling Consultation

Innovate UK

The objective of this one-day workshop is to explore the challenges and opportunities in simulation of compound semiconductor materials and systems by bring together practioners in the two arts to identify areas for collaboration with the recently established Compound Semiconductors Applications Catapult

In a recent survey of simulation best practice and state of the art (, the electronics sector was found to be one of the pre-eminent users of simulation from ab-initio techniques through multi-physics to system level design.

The workshop will consist of short talks from compound semiconductor simulation users and simulation developers followed by an open workshop to define the current challenges and potential solutions including those from sectors other than electronics. It is anticipated that subjects for presentation and/or discussion will include: Modeling of Innovative Semiconductor Materials, Coupled & Multiphysics Models, (e.g. Thermo-mechanical, electro-optic), Multiscale Models (e.g. EM in packaging & subsystems, reliability), Uncertainty Quantification Model verification and validation and High-Performance Computing (include HPC as a service).
