Throughout its life-cycle, a product may experience extreme loading conditions, ranging from a drop test on a hand-held device to an impact on a large scale hazardous chemical tank. Accurately assessing the ability of the design to survive under drops and shocks, including the consequences of uncontained failure on the immediate surroundings, can be crucial and may be necessary for certification. Based within Workbench, ANSYS Explicit STR software is the only structural program that is fully integrated into an environment capable of incorporating a range of multiphysics solutions, including electrical, thermal, mechanical and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
