NAFEMS Optimisation Working Group
4th Special Interest Group Meeting
The Optimisation Working Group has formed a Special Interest Group (SIG) in order to help disseminate best practice and encourage the adoption of optimisation methods and technology.
To participate in the Optimisation SIG you do not have to be an expert in this technical area. The Optimisation SIG is for NAFEMS members who are interested in expanding their capabilities in the optimisation technical area.
The Optimisation Special Interest Group is open to all NAFEMS members with an interest in Optimisation.
Non-NAFEMS members are invited to attend one event of their choice. Attendance of more than one event is reserved as a benefit for NAFEMS members.
Special Interest Group Meeting - Presentation
Professor Qingfu Zhang, City University of Hong Kong
Presentation Title: Recent Progress on MOEA/D
Multi-objective Optimization Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEA/D) have been a widely used and studied Evolutionary Multi-objective Optimization (EMO) algorithmic framework over the last few years. MOEA/D borrows ideas from traditional optimization. It decomposes a multi-objective problem into a number of sub-tasks, and then solves them in a collaborative manner. MOEA/D provides a very natural bridge between multi-objective evolutionary algorithms and traditional decomposition methods. In this talk, Professor Zhang will explain the basic ideas behind MOEA/D and some recent developments. He will also outline some possible research issues in multi-objective evolutionary computation.
