You need people to trust you. Therefore, you will show them information to support your points. What if they are not looking when you show it? Or, what if they are looking but they do not see what you want them to see. It is not enough to show them your simulation results, you need to make sure they are impacted by them. This course will help you get your audience’s attention and make sure they get the point.


You have an important point to make. To prove your point, you will want to show your audience some information. Is it possible for them to look directly at the information you are providing and not truly see it? Is it possible for them to listen to some information and not truly “hear” to it? Yes! There can be several reasons why this might happen.

One example is due to Inattentional Blindness. As defined here, “Inattentional blindness is the failure to notice a fully-visible, but unexpected object because attention was engaged on another task, event, or object.” How do you prevent your audience from experiencing this phenomenon?

That is just one example of what might be hindering your audience from agreeing with you. There are many other reasons why they might not absorb your point:

  • Are they simply bored?
  • Perhaps it is too complicated.

To make your point, you need them to trust you. Trust is achieved by giving them the right information in the right way so they can convince themselves. That can only happen if they actually see what you are showing them and hear what you are saying. This course will give you some guidance on how to give the right information in the right way.

Course Process and Details

Students will join the audio portion of the meetings by utilizing the VoIP (i.e. headset connected to the computer via headphone and microphone jacks) or by calling into a standard toll line.
