Whether your role is as a Manager, Reviewer or Analyst, there is a wealth of information to consider in an FEA project to enable safe and effective use of this powerful technique.

FE analysis tools are now widely available and relatively inexpensive, creating an increased need for analysis resource across Industry, and a growth in Consultancy firms.

The cost of investing in people increases and ‘career’ analyst numbers are falling. The result is a shortage of engineers familiar with FEA in Industry and increased outsourcing. Less staff now manage effective initial task assessment and resource allocation, or to carry out the analysis review.

In March’s Desktop Engineering, Tony Abbey (Consultant Analyst and NAFEMS Training Manager) provides Managers and Reviewers with a discussion and partial checklist of things to look for in planning, monitoring and reviewing an analysis. Experience in many fields of engineering analyses, together with developing and teaching training classes on this topic provide the background to the article.

For Managers – Tony will discuss the need to buy time upfront to focus on the key questions so that the team can start work effectively. We need to know the scope, objectives and the deliverables.

For Reviewers – how do you sign off an analysis report? You will need evidence of good basic checking, demonstration of good practice and confidence in the analysis and its results.

The purpose of this webinar, in collaboration with Desktop Engineering, will be to delve more in-depth into the planning of FEA projects and provide a forum for managers and reviewers to pose Tony Abbey questions.
