About NAFEMS

NAFEMS is the international association dedicated to the promotion and advancement of engineering simulation, including finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and related numerical methods. As part of our global growth strategy, we are establishing and expanding our presence in India.

Role Overview

The Regional Manager will be responsible for establishing, managing, and growing NAFEMS activities in India. This is a strategic, operational, and relationship-driven role that includes event execution, member support, committee coordination, and outreach to industry and academic institutions. The ideal candidate is self-driven, culturally adaptable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while supporting a UK-based leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Membership Development & Sales
  • Act as the primary point of contact for membership inquiries.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit corporate, SME, and academic members.
  • Execute targeted sales campaigns and follow up on marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) from events, downloads, and campaigns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders.
  1. Event Management
  • Plan, organise, and execute technical and networking events, including the Regional Conference, webinar series, and others as appropriate.
  • Manage venue negotiations and supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics, marketing, and on-the-ground execution of events.
  1. Committee & Governance Support
  • Schedule, coordinate, and document ISC (India Steering Committee) meetings.
  • Support the Industry, Academic, and Training subcommittees in implementing their roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Work closely with committee members, leveraging local insights and networks.
  1. Academic Outreach
  • Build relationships with engineering colleges and universities.
  • Support the establishment of Student Chapters.
  1. Relationship Management & Cross-Cultural Communication
  • Engage effectively with global NAFEMS teams and leadership.
  • Navigate both Western and Indian business cultures with nuance and professionalism.
  • Represent NAFEMS within India’s engineering simulation ecosystem.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Based in India, with experience working in or with Western organisations.
  • Understanding of Western business expectations paired with strong awareness of Indian business practices.
  • Proven experience in operations, event management, business development, or community engagement.
  • Excellent networking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong administrative skills, including meeting coordination, documentation, and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Familiarity with the Indian engineering/simulation market is a strong advantage.
