Discussion Panel

Engineering Simulation in the Automotive Industry Seminar

Discussion Panel

Panel Discussion Theme: “Automotive Hybrid Technologies, Electrification, ADAS, and CAE Process Democratization.”

The panel brings together simulation technical experts and senior engineering leaders from a diverse set of automotive OEMs for a focused discussion on the evolving role of simulation in the automotive product development lifecycle, including its successes and challenges, as well as the future direction of simulation—both near-term and long-term. Key topics will include the integration of multi-physics and system-level simulation, democratization strategies, digital twin implementation, and alignment within a Simulation Process & Data Management (SPDM) System. The discussion will further explore the roadmap for simulation-driven development, including the adoption of AI/ML-enhanced simulation, as well as the critical role of simulation in enabling electrification, autonomy, and software-defined vehicle architectures.

Expert Panel members:

  • Ram Bhandarkar - Director of Virtual Engineering NA / Stellantis
  • Dan Woodman - Director of Global Mobility & Transportation (Dow)
  • Bob Tickel - Director at Cummings
  • Karim Zouani - Chief Engineer ADAS at Ford Motor Co.
  • Ming-Te Cheng - Director at Dana Corporation
  • Allen Sheldon - Chief Engineer at Honda Research
  • Tulga Ersal - Professor at the University of Michigan
