The James S. McDonnell Prologue Room, named after James S. McDonnell, a pioneering figure in American aerospace history, is an aerospace museum located at Boeing’s facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Through exhibits and artifacts, the Prologue Room traces the history of aircraft and spacecraft innovation spanning over a century, taking you on a journey from dreams to reality.

 


 

H​ighlights include:

  • Aviation Icons: A chance to explore the history of aerospace innovation through models and displays related to iconic aircraft such as the F-4 Phantom II, F-15 Eagle, and the F/A-18 Hornet.
  • Wind-tunnel-size Models: An up close look at wind-tunnel size models, including Boeing’s newest 787 Dreamliner, C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft, a U.S. Navy Blue Angel, and Air Force One.
  • Space Exploration: A journey back to the early days of the U.S. space program with a look at full-scale mockups of the Mercury and Gemini space capsules, built in St. Louis by McDonnell Aircraft.
