At NAFEMS, we recognize the power of collaboration with like‑minded organisations to advance the field of engineering simulation. By building partnerships with other professional bodies, industry consortia, and standards organizations, we can share knowledge, align best practices, and collectively shape the future of simulation.
These partnerships enable us to:
Promote cross‑industry collaboration: Working with associations across sectors ensures the exchange of insights, methodologies, and experiences.
Influence standards and guidelines: Partnering with standards organizations allows us to contribute to consistent, reliable, and widely adopted practices.
Expand educational and professional opportunities: Joint initiatives help develop training, certification programs, and events for engineers worldwide.
Foster global connections: Connecting with associations internationally strengthens our global community and accelerates innovation.
By collaborating with others, NAFEMS leverages collective expertise to support the simulation community and drive continuous improvement across the industry.
Avicenna Alliance: an association of industry, academia & healthcare organizations with a commercial or research interest in the development of in silico medicine
ASME: With a strong shared interest in Verification and Validation, our partnership includes cross-participation on each others committees and working groups.
INCOSE: The Systems Modeling & Simulation Working Group (SMS WG) is a part of an active programme of collaboration with INCOSE (the International Council on Systems Engineering). The collaboration is governed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations, initially established in 2012 and most recently refreshed in 2023.
JSME: PSE certification has received full recognition by the JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers). NAFEMS and the JSME came to a mutual agreement in recognizing the certification that each organisations offer.
International Standards Organisation (ISO): NAFEMS is a liaison organization and participant in the ISO/TC 184/SC 4 standardization efforts, which include data interoperability for digital twins and process industries.
Engineering Council: NAFEMS is a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council.
IMECHE: NAFEMS collaborates with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers on a number of different initiatives, including joint awards and mutual support of conferences. Our Chief Technical Officer represents us on their Structural Technology and Materials Group.
CEiRSI: The UK Centre of Excellence for In-Silico Regulatory Science and Innovation (UKCEIRSI) advocates the transformation of healthcare through advanced computational modelling and simulation. NAFEMS is the leader of their work on Skills and Workforce Development.
