Simulation & Systems Engineering in the Oil & Gas Industry

Simulation & Systems Engineering in the Oil & Gas Industry

Emerging Standards & Practices

Tuesday, April 7th, 2015 | Houston, TX

Overview

The oil & gas industry faces a myriad of challenges, including the operation of production equipment in the most extreme environments with no room for error, as well as increasing pressure on refineries to minimize costs, safety risks, downtime, and emissions. Accurately representing the reality of various production and refinement analyses requires a multidisciplinary approach and knowledge of current best practices & standards to safely and efficiently develop innovative solutions.

Topics presented and discussed at this seminar will address various questions, such as:
  • What are the emerging multiphysics and multidisciplinary engineering practices and standards related to oil & gas extraction and refinement?

  • How can I explore newer and safer methods in the face of ever expanding regulatory requirements?

  • How can I employ cost-effective model re-use in an innovative, yet reliable manner?

  • How can I better leverage systems modeling & simulation to improve the safety and reliability of equipment?

  • How are others collaborating and addressing interoperability in a multiple-designer environment?

  • What solutions are available to help me, and have others had success with similar applications?

  • What steps should I take when exploring the widening technology landscape?

Description

NAFEMS Americas and invited speakers will cover these topics, and more, at, “Simulation & Systems Engineering in the Oil & Gas Industry: Emerging Standards & Practices." Located in Houston, TX, attendees from the Oil & Gas industry will gather at this annual event, in a pre-competitive manner, to exchange ideas, identify best practices, and drive the near-future direction of technology.

This event aims to deliver information and insights on critical topic areas in a manner that maximizes the “take-away” value for attendees. An event agenda and concept championed by several leading figures in the oil & gas industry will provide the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and practices, which attendees can later share and apply within their own organizations.
