If you’ve read a newspaper, watched the TV or read anything in a magazine or on-line in the last 12 months, chances are you’ll have come across the 3D printing revolution. For those of us in the engineering and design, we often meet the media’s current obsession with all things layer-based manufacturing with both slight bemusement (I mean, it’s not exactly new) and mild annoyance (we all know that gun is going to blow up in anyone’s face).
