Abstract

Open Discussion: Simulation Governance

Simulation Governance is the strategic management of simulation at all levels, As companies drive towards virtual product development and complete digital  descriptions of their products and manufacturing systems, simulation becomes increasingly important. A company’s actual capability to do simulation well, so it is repeatable, reliable, and robust, can become an important factor in quality, cost and time to market, and overall competitiveness.Indeed, when developing designs that are robust to variations in manufacturing and in customer usage, simulation can be demonstrably superior to hardware-based test and development. Companies need to not only work to improve their capability to apply simulation for product and manufacturing system development, but also to develop their confidence to make critical product decisions based on simulation.
