Rules and Regulations

Eligibility

  1. The nomination is open to engineering students who submit and defend their Master Thesis between 01.09.2025 and 30.09.2026. Students may submit at any time during this period, but the award will only be made after the final date.
  2. Students studying at registered Universities within the Iberian Region (Spain and Portugal) can submit their work.
  3. The submitted work should be an already submitted and defended Master thesis,
    written in English or the official languages of Spain and Portugal.

Rules

  1. The submitted work must contain a considerable extent use numerical simulation technologies in the field of engineering. Criteria for the assessment of the work are, among other aspects: the degree of novelty in the approach, quality and care of the documentation of the work, the significance and value of the project, etc.
  2. The student must be able to communicate with the committee in English and may be required to attend an online interview.
  3. T​he work will be judged based on:
    • A video in English, maximum 5 minutes duration (mp4)
    • A summary of the work done (justification, results, etc.) in English,
      maximum 4 pages in length (pdf)
    • The uploaded original thesis (pdf)
  1. A ​signed consent should be submitted by the university supervisor (see next page), confirming that the project is not confidential, and that the student has the University's and the industrial partner's (if relevant) support to enter into the competition.
  2. The decision related to the winner will be made by the members of the NAFEMS Iberia Steering Committee.
