Machine Learning Approaches to Improve the Efficiency of Fluid Dynamics Simulations

Application deadline: 30.06.2024

Led by Dr. Ajay Harish, this research program seeks to enhance the speed and sustainability of CFD simulations by integrating ML algorithms with OpenFOAM. By replacing standard metrics with data-driven models for intelligent speedup, the project aims to achieve more sustainable and efficient simulations.

Machine Learning for Early and Personalised Risk Assessment for Pathological Myopia

Application deadline: 31.05.2024

Supervised by Dr. Ajay Harish, Dr. Hema Radhakrishnan, and Dr. A Revell, this funded project aims to develop an AI-based model for early detection and personalised risk assessment of pathological myopia through vascular analysis in retinal images, combined with clinical measurements. Focused on reducing irreversible blindness caused by refractive error, the project aligns with EPSRC themes in AI, data science, and clinical technologies.

Both positions emphasise The University of Manchester's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, inviting applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and offering flexible study arrangements to accommodate different needs.
