2026 NAFEMS Iberia Conference

Presenter Guidelines

Submit an abstract

Presentations are expected to last 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes discussion.

The best presentation of the conference, voted by the NAFEMS Iberia Steering Group, will be requested to publish in the NAFEMS technical journal EMAS.

Submission Deadlines and Requirements

  • 30 June 2026: At a first stage please submit your abstract for consideration by the Technical Committee, approximately 300 words, using the format provided below.
  • 10 September 2026 The abstracts will be reviewed by the Technical Committee and authors will be notified prior to this date. Feedback will be provided and abstracts that are accepted will be asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation using the NAFEMS model provided.
  • The presentation must follow the defined “Presentation & Speaker Rules and Suggestions” (click on the underlined text to view the document)​

  • 10 October 2026: The following should be sent to the NAFEMS Iberia event contact prior to this date.
  • 1.Presentation (preferably Powerpoint, or pdf) as it will be used at the event.

    The presentation will be reviewed by the Technical Committee according to the defined criteria. Presenters will be able to update their presentations, until the date defined below, but large changes will require a repeat of the review process.

    2.Speaker Biography that will aid the Session Chairperson with the presentation introductions.

    3.Speaker Declaration should be completed and signed, using the document provided. NAFEMS requests permission to distribute the presentations in pdf format to the event attendees and then provide this to members after a certain time interval (typically 6 months). NAFEMS acknowledges that some confidential information may be contained in the presentations and in this case a reasonably modified pdf version should be provided for distribution/viewing purposes.

  • 10 November 2026: Updated versions of the above presentations and/or documents can be sent prior to this date. Please remember that we cannot accept any presentations on the event day (timing is usually very critical on the actual event day so there is no time to upload presentations from pen-drives or disks onto the computers used.)

Optional – Publish a Journal Article

EMAS

Outstanding extended abstract submissions will be shortlisted by the Review Committee for potential publication in the peer-reviewed Engineering Modelling, Analysis and Simulation Journal. We will assist you in transitioning your conference paper into a journal article.

EMAS has an open access publication model and is licensed under the “Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International” (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) framework.

The publication process

  • Submit an extended abstract and present at the conference,
  • If recommended by the Review Committee, presenters will be invited to expand their extended abstracts into original research papers,
  • Following the standard procedure, which includes a double-blind peer review, revisions, editing, the paper will be published online.
