The NAFEMS Education and Training Working Group (ETWG) wishes to commission a new on-demand course for the NAFEMS Learning Hub with the title “Case Studies Demonstrating the Industrial use of Structural Finite Element Analysis”.
This online course is expected to provide practical guidance to graduate-level and early-career industrial users of structural finite element analysis. The intended reader should be assumed to have a basic understanding of linear FE analysis, but limited experience of advanced modelling decisions, non-linear behaviour, verification and validation, or the practical assessment and interpretation of simulation results in an industrial context.
The course is expected to provide a practical guide based around a set of industrially relevant case studies. The content should be accessible and should avoid excessive mathematical detail, while still providing sufficient theoretical background to support good engineering judgement.
The following topics are expected to be included:
The on-demand course is intended to be delivered through the NAFEMS Learning Hub, consisting of text, formulas, figures, videos, quizzes and downloadable files. Further specification and support will be provided by the NAFEMS technical and marketing teams.
The approximate learning time of the complete course for attendees is expected to be around 4 to 6 hours.
The total cost is not expected to exceed £6,000 GBP. It is expected that the course will be completed within 12 months from NAFEMS approval.
Potential authors should submit the following:
All proposals should be sent to NAFEMS at technical@nafems.org to arrive no later than 31 January 2027.
