Rodney Dreisbach - Chairman

With more than 46 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Dr. Dreisbach has been a leader, engineer, professor and advisor who has pursued his assignments and objectives with passion. He has led pioneering efforts in the development, validation, application, support and maintenance of large-scale multitechnology computing systems, spanning linear and nonlinear response of metallic and advanced-composite structures due to static and dynamic load environments, fracture mechanics, flutter, and structural/acoustic interaction. He has been the STF Advisor to the Boeing Enterprise Structures Technology Domain and system manager of the Commercial Airplanes Computational Structures Technology Group focused on implementing  enterprise-wide cross-functional lean computing systems for optimizing conceptual and detailed structural designs of innovative aerospace vehicles.

Dr. Dreisbach holds a B.S. and an M.S. in engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in structural mechanics from the University of Colorado (Boulder). He is a registered (licensed) Professional Engineer, an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA), a Fellow of The Royal Aeronautical Society in London, England, a Technical Fellow of the international NAFEMS organization, and a member of ASME, the International Council of Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS), and the Sigma Xi National Scientific Research Society. He is an active leader, coach, and mentor to numerous international Technical NAFEMS Working Groups and the ISO LOTAR (LOng Term Archiving and Retrieval) Work Group for EAS (Engineering Analysis & Simulation) with a focus on Model Based Engineering. He is also an appointed ambassador and member of the advisory committee for the international, multi-industry Analysis, Simulation, & Systems Engineering Software Strategies (ASSESS) Initiative. He is a charter member and current chairman of the NAFEMS Americas Steering Committee since 2000; and has been a member of the NAFEMS Council of Management since 2008. Dr. Dreisbach has published more than 100 technical papers since 1963.
