Technia acquires Claytex, bolstering simulation capabilities

PLM and simulation systems developer Technia has acquired Claytex Services, a specialist in advanced simulation within the automotive, motorsports, aerospace and defense industries.

Claytex has been partnered with Dassault Systèmes for over a decade, offering a full suite of Dymola products alongside training and support. It also has a long-standing partnership with Technia UK and has been highly successful in generating IP, including industry- and domain-specific simulation libraries which are marketed and sold as Claytex products by both Dassault Systèmes and Claytex.

Technia says the acquisition bolsters and expands its offering as a global provider of premium simulation software, services, training and support through its Simulation Centre of Excellence. Additionally, it adds to its ability to perform simulation of autonomous vehicles based on Claytex’s own software products combined with the 3DExperience Dymola and rFpro platforms.

Magnus Falkman, CEO of Technia, said, “The Claytex team are at the forefront of simulation and digital twin technology enabling full system simulation of vehicles, equipment and buildings. They are highly innovative and have successfully packaged their knowledge in a software suite for different industries and domains now to be leveraged through our global team and reach.”

Mike Dempsey, CEO of Claytex, added, “Claytex have a long relationship with Technia and Dassault Systèmes. Our technology and knowledge in advanced simulation will now be available to the global markets and being part of listed company provides stability and capacity for additional investments into our team, technology, and growth. We share a passion for innovation with Technia which helps our customers to create better performing and more sustainable products using advanced simulation.”
