Simulation Governance & Management Working Group

Mission

The NAFEMS Simulation Governance and Management Working Group (SGMWG) fosters a vendor-neutral, end-user driven consortium to advance the governance of engineering simulation processes and techniques. It supports NAFEMS by:

  • Enhancing confidence and credibility in engineering simulations of products and processes
  • Providing governance methods that positively impact profitability, schedules, product quality, performance, and safety for engineering companies
  • Promoting collaboration among international industry, academia, government, and vendors, leveraging unbiased multi-disciplinary expertise dedicated to the engineering modelling, simulation, and systems engineering communities

Vision

Drive excellence in engineering simulation through robust governance, strategic management, and best practices that enhance credibility, reliability, and business value.

Scope

  • Champion and improve best practices that relate to governance of engineering simulations
  • Maintain the NAFEMS Engineering Simulation Quality Management Standard (ESQMS)
  • Provide practical methods that allow productivity in virtual product development processes to be balanced with risk and intended application
  • Develop and promote beneficial requirements and standards for the international engineering simulation community

Discussion Video Series

The Simulation Governance and Management Working Group has begun developing a series of discussion videos tackling key topics within the group's scope. The videos are available to watch via the group's 'Discussion Videos' page.
