Authors Instructions

Registration

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for contributing to NRC22 Americas and providing a presentation at this exciting event. The next step is to register. Please click here to return to the main page to register with the Speaker discount code provided to you in your abstract acceptance email. The discount code provided will need to be applied at the very end of the registration checkout process in a box marked “Offer code?” at the bottom of the screen. If needed, please find below a couple brief tutorial videos on logging-in to the website and making purchases. When logging-in, make sure to use the email address with which we have been in communication with you.

Remember that only the primary presenter of each paper (the individual who was identified during the original submission) is allowed to register at the discounted speaker rate.

Seminar Credits: if your membership contains seminar credits, and you wish to register using the Speaker discounted rate of 2 credits, please email Andrew Wood to complete your registration.

Extended Abstract

An extended abstract will need to be submitted. We would like the extended abstract to include further details of your presentation. This abstract will be shared with attendees at the conference.

To allow sufficient time to include your extended abstract for the attendees, we ask that you submit it by email (americas@nafems.org) no later than Friday, May 20th, 2022. (Note: Any submissions delivered after this date will not be included for attendees - no exceptions).

When submitting your PDF, please name the file as follows: LastName-Company

The recommended length of an extended abstract is 2-4 pages (but longer than 4 pages is fine). Please note that the template mentions a 600 word limit, but that is only in reference to the Summary section of the Extended Abstract.

*IMPORTANT* Please adhere to the format and style provided in the template (i.e., do not change text font/style or size). If you're copying and pasting from a separate working document, right click where you wish to paste text and choose the "Keep Text Only" option. This will help to ensure you do not carry over incorrect formatting from the previous document. Note: Any submissions not using the template provided will be returned to the author.

Presentation

Please send an approved (by you, the author) PDF copy of your presentation (the PPT will not need to be submitted) for posting onto our Resource Center for attendees and NAFEMS members to access post-event. The deadline to submit this presentation PDF will be Friday, June 3rd, 2022 (No Exceptions). (Note: Any submissions delivered after this date risk losing its presentation slot, and PDFs submitted not using this template will be returned). When submitting your PDF, please name the file as follows: LastName-Company

Quick Tip on Creating a PDF from PPT: open the PPT file, choose “File,” choose “Save As,” then under the drop-down of file-type options (beneath where you name the file) choose “PDF” and click “Save.” This will ensure each slide in the PDF corresponds in size to the slide in the PPT. A “Print to PDF” option doesn’t always ensure this 1:1 ratio of slide size.

Your presentation slot is limited to 30 minutes (training courses and workshops will have 1.5 hours), which includes a suggested five-minutes for questions and discussion (although we recommend targeting 20-25 minutes for your presentation to allow as much Q&A time as possible). Note: Session chairs will be instructed to start/stop each presentation on time, so please keep this in mind when preparing your presentation.

Please find below a presentation template to assist you when creating your presentation.

Laptops: You will be required to use your own laptop to present. HDMI, VGA, and Apple adapters (mini-display port and usb-c/thunderbolt), as well as an audio plug-in connector cord (if your presentation contains sound), will be available. You will have the opportunity to test your laptop during breaks, in the morning, at end-of-day, etc. Wi-Fi internet will be available throughout the conference area.

Please send your presentation PDF to americas@nafems.org.

Biography

Finally, below is a speaker biography form. This brief form is designed to assist the chair when introducing you. Please return the completed form to NAFEMS (americas@nafems.org) by Friday, May 20th, 2022. (Note: Any submissions after this date will result in the presenter having to introduce himself/herself - no exceptions). When submitting your Bio, please name the file as follows: LastName-Company

Please Note:

  • All extended abstracts and presentations should be carefully examined for grammar and spelling.
  • Extended abstracts, presentations, and biography forms will only be accepted if they are provided in the correct format, using the templates provided above.
  • Please do not mention product names in the title of your abstract or presentation and be reminded that the contents should be restricted to technical and/or business issues. Any overt promotional pitches in your presentation may result in being unable to present at future NAFEMS events.
