Leveraging the 3DExperience Twin for the Next Generation of Asset Maintenance

Abstract

With the recent convergence of many new technologies a new, innovative method to improve product or system maintenance is introduced.  By combining, IOT, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Industry leading simulation technologies on the 3DExperience platform, organizations can dramatically reduce the cost of maintaining their assets by reducing un-necessary inspections and providing optimal timing and conditions for needed maintenance.  This presentation will cover the foundational pieces and capabilities of such a system.

Biography

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1983, David Barnes spent 8 years at what is now Rolls-Royce performing simulation as part of the Advanced Engine Design team, then another 8 years pioneering simulation methods for General Motors lighting products before joining AC Engineering in 1999.  Many name changes and a few acquisitions later he is now responsible for leading a SIMULIA special initiative to guide customers along the journey from Validate to Innovate by leveraging the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.  Before taking on his current role, he performed consulting, managed the engineering services, served as GM for the SIMULIA Central offices, and directed the Americas field organization for SIMULIA.
