We've outlined the opportunities and responsibilities for those considering presenting at our upcoming conference.

Start of the conference

A​bstract submission

S​ubmit your extended abstract by the deadline to secure a presentation slot at the event. The Review Committee will provide feedback to each abstract submission within three weeks.

R​egistration

Once your abstract has been formally accepted, please r​egister for the conference, and you will receive a company invoice prepared by our local event organisation partner.

Extended Abstract and Presentation

Submitting an extended abstract and a presentation is required for participation as a speaker. The extended abstracts (a short conference paper including a couple of figures) will be featured in the conference proceedings.

P​lease review the Author Guidelines before preparing your extended abstract and presentation.

A​uthor Guidelines

P​resenters will have 15 minutes to present, which will be followed by a 5 minute discussion session led by the session chair.

Post-event, with your consent, the presentation will be made available in the NAFEMS Resource Center. You'll also have the opportunity to revise your presentation before submitting it for upload.


Optional – Publish a Journal Article

P​resenters of any NAFEMS Regional Conference can submit their manuscript to the NAFEMS Journal EMAS, and have the standard publication fee waived. EMAS has an open access publication model and is licensed under the “Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International” (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) framework.

The publication process

  • Submit an extended abstract and present at the conference,
  • Submit a manuscript at the EMAS Journal.
  • Following the standard procedure, which includes a double-blind peer review, revisions, editing, the paper will be published online.
