Course Accreditation & Module Approval
The Education and Training Working Group is responsible for accrediting courses run by NAFEMS and other external agencies. A formal NAFEMS accreditation procedure will be followed. If appropriate, the Education and Training Working Group will issue guidelines for the technical content and assessment methods of accredited courses.
NAFEMS recognizes that it has a role to play in working with Universities and other course providers, to help define and deliver the competencies required in the engineering analysis and simulation area.
The Education and Training Working Group ‘Module Approval Scheme’ has been created to address this need. The approval scheme is based on the competencies defined in the core Finite Element Analysis and core Computational Fluid Dynamics technical areas of the NAFEMS Professional Simulation Engineer Scheme.
The 'Module Approval Scheme' is aimed at approval as opposed to a more rigorous 'Accreditation' process.
Since the launch of the scheme the following institutions and courses have received "Module Approval'
|Brunel University London||Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering||ME5624-Numerical Modelling of Solids and Structures (MSc Structural Integrity)||FEA|
|HSR Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil||Weiterbildung ||CAS Computational Fluid Dynamics||CFD|
|University of Manchester||School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering||MACE 61059 Finite Elements||FEA|
|Technische Universität Berlin||Department of Structural Analysis||Introduction to FEM||FEA|
